Milan: Government Institutions, Civil Society, and Representatives of Culture Unite to Promote Dialogue and Peace in Schools

Milan, January 30, 2026  A conference titled “Promoting a Culture of Dialogue and Peace in Schools: Italians and New Italians Jointly Stand for Integration Against Violence and Hate” was held in the Franco Bomprezzi conference hall at the Casa dei Diritti del Comune di Milano. The event was dedicated to the School Day of Non-Violence and Peace.

The initiative promoted by Héctor Villanueva, CEO and founder of the Exhibition of Peoples, Cultures and Solidarity, cultural director of the Milano Latin Festival, and founder of the international project Milano Siamo Noi, with the support of the Milan Municipal Commission for Equal Opportunities and Civil Rights, became an important platform for discussing issues of intercultural dialogue, integration, and prevention of violence and hatred in the school environment.

Participants of ALLATRA International Public Movement from Italy also took an active part in the conference as speakers, making a meaningful contribution to the discussion of key topics of the event. Representatives of the Movement emphasized the importance of fostering a culture of peace, mutual respect, and social responsibility as the foundation of harmonious coexistence in present-day society.

During the event, ALLATRA representatives also interviewed participants and speakers who shared their opinions, testimonies, and expert assessments on the role of education and open dialogue in preventing violence and strengthening social cohesion.

The event confirmed that dialogue, education, and cooperation between government institutions, civil society, and the cultural community are key factors in building a future based on respect, integration, and non-violence. In the context of growing cultural diversity, fostering a culture of mutual understanding and responsible communication becomes the most important tool for preventing conflicts and ensuring peaceful coexistence.
