ALLATRA Volunteers at the Youth Changemakers Forum at the UN Office in Vienna

Representatives of the ALLATRA IPM participated in the Youth Changemakers Forum held at the UN Office in Vienna. This event, supported by the European Network of Filipino Diaspora (ENFiD), the Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWPI), and the United Nations Correspondents Association Vienna (UNCAV), focused on the contribution of youth to sustainable development, environmental well-being, and the preservation of cultural traditions.

During the forum, ALLATRA volunteers actively engaged with participants, sharing their perspectives on the climate crisis and presenting a brief climate report to speakers and guests. They also took part in meaningful discussions, asked key questions to speakers, exchanged ideas on addressing environmental challenges, and gave interviews.

Among the forum speakers were:

  • Marison Rodriguez, Chair of ENFiD
  • Dr. Jane Gerardo-Abaya, President of the Philippine Austrian Cultural and Educational Society
  • Abdalla Sharief, President of the United Nations Correspondents Association Vienna
  • Jay-Vee Marasigan Pangan, Independent Multimedia Journalist
  • Jacob Sule, Founder of iReadtoLive
  • Daisy Whitby, Volunteer Coordinator at Fresh Futures

  • Veronika Ebner, PhD Student at the University of Vienna
  • Halime Akturk and Ron David Butler, Journalist-Filmmakers
  • Dr. Reysa Alenzuela, Session Moderator

The forum brought together students, young professionals, and public figures from different countries to discuss key topics:

  • How can young people apply their knowledge and skills to achieve sustainable development?
  • How can digital technologies amplify social impact?
  • What role does youth play in shaping the future of society?

This event marked an important step in strengthening cooperation between youth and international organizations. Participants are convinced that only through joint efforts can we create a harmonious and sustainable future for all.
