ALLATRA at the United Nations Vienna Office for “Earth Day – Day of Happiness”

ALLATRA volunteers attended the “Earth Day – Day of Happiness” event at the United Nations Vienna International Centre, a gathering dedicated to promoting cultural traditions, sustainability, and global well-being.

The event united experts, activists, and changemakers in discussions about key global issues. Topics included the protection of our planet, the role of cultural traditions in fostering unity, and the responsibility of individuals in building a sustainable future.

Event Highlights:

• Opening remarks by Mr. Peter Haider, Chair of the NGO Committee on Peace – Vienna
• Engaging panel discussions featuring leading experts in environmental sustainability, cultural heritage, and happiness, including:
  • Dr. Peter Weish, human ecologist and peace activist (Earth Day)  
  • Ms. Mina Amighi, representative of the Zoroastrian community (Nou Rouz)  
  • Univ.-Prof. Mag. Dr. Hermann Mückler, cultural anthropologist (Day of Happiness) 

During the event, ALLATRA representatives actively contributed to discussions, highlighting critical insights from the latest climate reports and emphasizing the urgency of the ongoing climate crisis. We addressed pressing environmental concerns, exchanged knowledge with fellow participants, and reinforced the necessity of collective action to ensure the protection of our planet.

A key takeaway from the event was the recognition that global collaboration is essential for establishing a peaceful, balanced, and ecologically sustainable world. By transcending cultural and disciplinary boundaries, humanity can shape a future that harmonizes nature and human life.
