“Quality Education for All – SDG 4: A Pathway towards the Better World” International Annual Conference of the Women’s Federation for World Peace

On June 28, 2025, the city of Bratislava hosted the International Annual Conference of the Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP), dedicated to the theme “Quality Education for All – SDG 4: A Pathway towards the Better World.” The event brought together participants from various countries, including representatives of WFWP, educators, peacebuilders, researchers, and civil society leaders.

This year’s conference was co-organized by the ALLATRA International Public Movement and the Creative Society project and whose joint participation supported the goals of sustainable development, promotion of peace, and the importance of education in addressing global challenges.

Thematic Sessions

Session 1 – Education for Peace in Family and Community (SDG 16)

The opening session focused on the role of education in fostering peace at the family and community levels. Discussions centered on value-based upbringing, intergenerational dialogue, and the power of local initiatives to build peaceful societies.


Session 2 – Quality Education in Schools: Building Character (SDG 4)

This session addressed the importance of character formation through education. Speakers discussed current educational trends, regional perspectives, and the role of emotional and ethical development in schools.


Session 3 – There is No Planet B: Clean Water, Clean Oceans (SDG 6)

The concluding session was dedicated to environmental concerns, highlighting issues related to the global water crisis, pollution of oceans, and the long-term impact of microplastics on health and ecosystems.

Working Groups – From Dialogue to Action

Participants took part in discussion groups focused on key areas:

  1. Environment and pollution
  2. The role of media in education
  3. Character education
  4. Inner peace – practical tools for coping with stress
  5. Advocacy, diplomacy, and cooperation with the UN

Contribution of ALLATRA International Public Movement and the Creative Society project

As part of the official program, representatives of the ALLATRA International Public Movement and the Creative Society project contributed to the conference with presentations on urgent environmental and social challenges. The following speakers took part:

  • Eva Leschenko, Counselling psychologist, child psychologist and art therapist  – presented on “How Children Reflect the World Through Human Relationships,” emphasizing the importance of emotional connection and mutual understanding in child development.
  • Tatiana Zinčenko,  Ph.D. Psychotherapist, psychologist, and researcher, President of IASGA -  addressed “The Impact of Harmful Media Content on Adolescents’ Mental Health and Behavior,” drawing attention to the psychological risks linked to media consumption.
  • Barbara Mejzlíková, ALLATRA movement participant – gave a presentation on “Ocean and Environmental Pollution with Microplastics,” raising awareness of the global spread of plastic contamination and its long-term consequences.
  • Róbert Mikita, Creative Society project participant – presented “Micro- and Nanoplastics: Health Consequences and Scientific Findings,” highlighting recent research on the presence of plastic particles in human tissues and their potential impact on well-being.

Their contributions underscored the need for international cooperation, scientific research, and greater public awareness to address the growing environmental and health risks posed by micro- and nanoplastics.

Throughout the conference, media representatives from ALLATRA movement conducted interviews with participants, many of whom noted that these topics were new to them but deeply concerning. 

ALLATRA movement and Creative Society project express sincere gratitude to the organizers of the conference for the opportunity to participate, co-organize and contribute to this meaningful dialogue. The event served as an important platform for knowledge exchange and joint efforts toward a more just, sustainable, and peaceful world.
