Volunteers from ALLATRA International Public Movement with invited speakers at the roundtable "Dialogue to Preserve Democracy: Strengthening Human Rights Together," Berlin, January 18, 2025
On January 18, 2025, a roundtable titled "Dialogue to Preserve Democracy: Strengthening Human Rights Together" was held in Berlin. Participants discussed ways to safeguard peace and human rights amid growing societal divisions.
The event focused on analyzing the mechanisms behind the creation of hostile narratives and exploring strategies to dismantle them. Discussions highlighted the role of manipulative technologies, provided examples of the destructive influence of the media, and addressed contemporary challenges such as interfaith conflicts and the systematic discreditation of religious minorities, as well as other groups and public movements facing bias and unfair treatment.
Speakers presented research on how the manipulation of public opinion through disinformation fosters interreligious and ethnic discord, creates societal tensions, and undermines democratic foundations.

Participants analyzed international experiences and concluded that proactive dialogue enables society to recognize destructive trends and learn timely lessons from past events.
The discussion also addressed artificially induced religious strife in modern society. One participant remarked, “In essence, all religions convey the same core messages, but oddly, we tend to focus on the few differences instead of focusing on what unites us.”
This event, organized by the German team of volunteers from ALLATRA International Public Movement, served as an important platform for dialogue and the search for solutions aimed at strengthening mutual understanding and democratic values.
The need to unify society is especially pressing in the face of global climate change. This is why ALLATRA volunteers are committed to fostering mutual understanding among people and collaboratively addressing pressing issues in the context of impending large-scale natural disasters.
