ALLATRA Italy Participates in the Official Presentation of the Book La Comunicazione Creativa per lo sviluppo socio-umanitario in Milan
On July 13, 2026, representatives of ALLATRA Italy took part in the official presentation of Biagio Maimone’s book La Comunicazione Creativa per lo sviluppo socio-umanitario (Creative Communication for Socio-Humanitarian Development), held at Sala Valeria Solesin in Palazzo Lombardia in Milan.

The event was held in collaboration with Regione Lombardia, under the patronage of the European Commission, and with recognition from UNAR, the National Office Against Racial Discrimination under the Presidency of the Council of Ministers of Italy.

The author of the book, Biagio Maimone—Coordinator of the Global Network of Religious Tourism in Italy and Director of Communications at Fondazione Bambino Gesù del Cairo, chaired by Monsignor Yoannis Lahzi Gaid, former personal secretary to Pope Francis—presented his book as a cultural and educational initiative aimed at developing a “pedagogy of the word”—an approach in which communication serves as a tool for personal and social development.
The author emphasized the need to counter the spread of aggressive and destructive communication in politics, the media, and the digital sphere, highlighting the impact of public discourse on the quality of public life, particularly on the younger generation.
The meeting was held as part of the national educational tour La Parola è Vita ("The Word Is Life"), aimed at promoting a culture of responsible communication based on the principles of dialogue, peace, and mutual respect.
The event brought together representatives of national and regional government bodies, municipal institutions, the scientific and academic community, international organizations, cultural and civic institutions, as well as experts in communication, humanitarian development, and environmental security.

Marcella Panucci, Advisor to Italy’s Minister of Universities and Research, Anna Maria Bernini;
Mattia Peradotto, Coordinator and Director of UNAR—the National Office Against Racial Discrimination under the Presidency of the Council of Ministers of Italy—who delivered a video address;
Héctor Villanueva, CEO and Founder of the EXPO dei Popoli, delle Culture e della Solidarietà project;
Alice Arienta, member of the Milan City Council and representative of Mayor Giuseppe Sala;
Diana De Marchi, Advisor to the Delegate of the Città Metropolitana di Milano;

Raffaele Cattaneo, Undersecretary to the Presidency of the Lombardy Region (Regione Lombardia) for International and European Relations, emphasized in his remarks that language is one of the most powerful tools for building human relationships, fostering dialogue, and strengthening social cohesion. He stressed the need to restore the true meaning of words and promote a culture of communication grounded in respect, responsibility, and cooperation, particularly at a time when aggressive rhetoric, hate speech, and polarization are becoming increasingly prevalent in public discourse and on social media.
Nabil Bougarech, representative of the ALLATRA Global Research Center, presented the report Nanoplastics. A Systematic Risk Analysis for Human Health, Ecosystems, and the Environment, published by the ALLATRA Global Research Center.

During the presentation, he shared the findings of a comprehensive analysis of scientific evidence on the risks associated with microplastics and nanoplastics, emphasizing that the issue is multifaceted and affects not only the environment but also human health, biodiversity, and the resilience of ecosystems.
He placed particular emphasis on the need to unite the efforts of the scientific community, public authorities, and civil society to raise awareness, strengthen international cooperation, and develop effective mechanisms for collaboration aimed at protecting the environment and safeguarding the well-being of future generations.

In conclusion, participants emphasized the importance of joining forces across the scientific community, public institutions, international organizations, and civil society to foster constructive dialogue and advance joint initiatives aimed at addressing today's most pressing global challenges.
