ALLATRA IPM Representatives Attend European WFWP EUME Women’s Leadership Conference in Tirana

7 November 2025

TIRANA, Albania – October 24–26, 2025 – Representatives of the ALLATRA International Public Movement (ALLATRA IPM) from Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, and Latvia participated in the 22nd Annual European and Middle East Women’s Leadership Conference in Tirana, Albania. The event was titled “Pathways to Peace and Development Through Women’s Initiatives.”

Organized by the Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP Europe & Middle East), the event brought together over 150 participants from more than 30 countries worldwide, including female politicians, scientists, entrepreneurs, spiritual leaders, and volunteers from various organizations.

The conference provided an opportunity for networking sessions, the exchange of experiences, and the presentation of successful projects from various regions.

Over the course of three days, the conference delivered a rich program of discussions on topics such as:

  • Promoting responsible leadership through education for a peaceful future
  • Women supporting each other
  • Interfaith dialogue
  • Technology and women’s empowerment
  • Climate action and environmental sustainability
  • Health and mental balance

All these topics reflect the challenges of the contemporary world, in which women play an increasingly significant role.

ALLATRA volunteers had the honor of delivering expert presentations on the destructive impact of nanoplastics on the planet’s ecosystem, climate, and human health. Their presentations highlighted the critical need for global responsibility, ecological education, and cross-border cooperation in addressing environmental threats.

Based on their exemplary accomplishments in the area of women's leadership, the ALLATRA participants were granted the Global Women Peace Ambassador Award. This is a great honor for ALLATRA IPM, which encourages all participants to continue their efforts with even greater determination.

Mgr. Barbora Mejzlikova and Dr. Tetiana Zinchenko awarded the title Global Women Peace Ambassador

Barbora Mejzlikova, Official Representative of ALLATRA IPM in the Czech Republic, emphasized in her presentation:

“The biggest threat to our stability is invisible nanoplastics, which penetrate the entire ecosystem and introduce chaos directly into the climate system's function. These particles artificially accelerate the entire water cycle, resulting in today’s extreme weather events,” Mejzlikova stated.

She concluded by calling the participants to action and reminding them of what society can do to solve the plastic pollution problem:

“Therefore, our path to peace and stability must begin with a collective bridge of knowledge. We need to unite experts from various fields, including physicists and ecologists, to find a solution to eliminate the dangerous electrostatic charge in nanoplastics. Our security is at stake, and only our collective, innovative initiative can protect the future,” said Mejzlíková.

Dr. Tetiana Zinchenko, ALLATRA IPM participant and Director of the International Professional Alliance “Climate Crisis & Mental Health” (UK), pointed out an alarming trend in her speech:

“Globally, we are seeing a rise in the number of neurodegenerative and psychiatric illnesses, as well as neurodevelopmental disorders. Research shows that this increase clearly correlates with the increased environmental contamination by micro- and nanoplastics (MNP).

Children and youth are the most vulnerable to this threat, and the consequences may affect many future generations. MNP have been found to penetrate the placental barrier from mother to fetus. Tiny plastic particles have been discovered in placental tissue and amniotic fluid, meaning that unborn children are directly exposed to microplastics in the womb.”

Dr. Zinchenko concluded by calling for interdisciplinary cooperation and further in-depth research:

“We urgently need innovative solutions and developments in the field of neutralizing or removing nano- and microplastics from the body. For example, one approach involves removing the electrostatic charge from the surface of nanoparticles to reduce their toxicity by approximately 50%.”

The presentations on nanoplastic pollution and its impact on health strongly resonated with the attendees. Their interest and response confirmed the need to further address and develop these vital environmental topics.

The participants also took part in the symbolic Bridge of Peace Ceremony, a tradition of the annual WFWP conference, to build bridges of peace between nations. This powerful moment symbolized unity, respect, and the willingness to overcome differences through open dialogue.

“For centuries, women have known how to unite, not divide. Today, we meet here and shake hands. In that simple gesture lies hope, understanding, and our common future. I know deep in my heart that women can change the world,” Yeva Leshchenko, ALLATRA IPM participant commented.

ALLATRA expresses its deep gratitude to WFWP for the long-standing cooperation and for creating a space that brings together active people from different countries and cultures. Events such as this year's annual conference in Tirana prove that humanity, sincerity, and mutual support remain the greatest forces that can unite the world.
