ALLATRA Sweden Took Part in the Forum for Human Rights 2025 in Stockholm

On December 9–10, 2025, the Forum for Human Rights 2025 (Mänskliga Rättighetsdagarna 2025) — the largest human rights event in the Nordic countries — took place at Kistamässan conference center in Stockholm. The forum focused on key human rights challenges including democracy, peace, and climate issues, examined through the lens of equality and inalienable human rights. The event brought together experts, civil society representatives, government institutions, and international organizations. The forum featured more than 150 program sessions, addressing issues of human rights protection, combating discrimination, expanding democratic space, climate justice, and migration.

Representatives of ALLATRA Sweden took part in the forum and engaged in professional dialogue with speakers and participants in two priority areas:

  • Protection of human rights including  freedom of conscience and religion, as well as respect for religious and worldview diversity;
  • Implementation of the right to health and a safe environment, as well as risks to these rights associated with the impact of nanoplastics on the biosphere and human health.

This focus area directly aligns with the Spiritual Diplomacy global initiative put forward by Pastor Mark Burns and supported by ALLATRA International Public Movement. The initiative is based on understanding that protection of human rights, freedom of conscience, religion and belief, as well as respect for cultural and spiritual diversity, forms a foundation for sustainable peace, international dialogue, and mutual trust among nations.

As part of the meetings and discussions with forum speakers and experts, representatives of ALLATRA Sweden presented analytical reports by ALLATRA Global Research Center: “Nanoplastics in the Biosphere: From Molecular Impact to Planetary Crisis” and “On the Progression of Climatic Disasters on Earth and Their Catastrophic Consequences.” Scientific data presented in these reports formed a basis for discussions of key aspects of the impact of nanoplastics on ecosystems, human health, and the resilience of the biosphere, as well as the interconnection between climate risks and human rights.

The ALLATRA Sweden team held substantive and professional discussions with a number of leading speakers and experts, including:

  • Jan Eliasson, Swedish diplomat, UN Deputy Secretary-General (2012–2016), President of the UN General Assembly (2005–2006), Chair of the SIPRI Governing Board (2017-2022);
  • Lars Arrhenius, Sweden’s Equality Ombudsman, former head of organizations Läkarmissionen and Friends, the first Ombudsman for Children and Students (BEO);

  • Josette Bushell‑Mingo, Principal of the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama (London, UK); actress, director, and educator;

  • Eva Mineur, Head of Climate and Sustainability at the Global Challenges Foundation, PhD in Political Science;
