Berlin, Germany, March 14, 2026 — The historic Kino Babylon Berlin hosted a special screening of the science documentary “Nanoplastics.  Threat to Life.” Produced by ALLATRA Global Research Center, the film brings together scientific findings from around the world on the effects of micro- and nanoplastics, presenting them in a format accessible to a broad audience.

The film has received awards at four international film festivals: the Mannheim Arts and Film Festival,   Latitude Film Awards,   London Independent Film Awards, and   Titan International Film Festival.

In Germany, where environmental protection is a top priority, the growing threat of nanoplastics has drawn significant interest.

About the Film

The documentary "Nanoplastics.  Threat to Life" shows how micro- and nanoplastics are spreading across the planet and penetrating human tissues and organs, including the brain, heart, and circulatory system. It also examines their potential to interfere with the earliest stages of life.

The materials presented show that nanoplastics are not merely inert particles; their surface and electrical properties allow them to interact directly with cells and biological systems. These interactions can disrupt intercellular communication, increase oxidative stress, and trigger inflammation. They may also affect the immune, cardiovascular, and reproductive systems, making them a significant risk factor for both human health and ecosystem stability.

The film was created with the participation of internationally recognized scientists and offers a comprehensive examination of the full spectrum of threats posed by micro- and nanoplastics. It reveals the true scale of the risks these particles pose to current and future generations.

Post-Screening Open Discussion

Following the screening, a Q&A session was held with the audience. Attendees engaged in a lively discussion, asking questions about the key issues raised in the film.

Medical professionals noted that in their practice, they are encountering evidence consistent with the findings presented in the film, including rising disease rates and the declining effectiveness of existing treatments. They also emphasized that information about nanoplastics’ ability to accumulate and retain electrostatic charge was new to them and requires further scientific study.

Participants in the discussion stressed the urgency of the issue, emphasizing that it must be communicated to as many people as possible. Increasing public awareness is one of the key factors in addressing large-scale challenges.

Cinema as a Platform for Public Dialogue

Berlin remains one of Europe’s cultural hubs, where the film industry frequently serves as a platform for addressing global challenges. The screening of popular science documentaries helps bring critical scientific and environmental issues to the forefront, uniting audience in the search for solutions to the micro- and nanoplastics crisis.

The documentary “Nanoplastics.  Threat to Life” has been translated into multiple languages and is available on YouTube. Screenings are held regularly in cities and countries around the world.

The film has already become part of an international public dialogue that extends beyond the scientific community, engaging a growing audience. Its accessibility and open format allow viewers to obtain up-to-date information and increase awareness of environmental conditions and personal health.

“Nanoplastics.  Threat to Life” is more than just a documentary—it is a key step toward uniting the efforts of the scientific community, society, and individuals in the face of a global threat.
